Composer: Tadd Russo
Piece: They Shall Not Grow Old (2004)

Notes:

They Shall Not Grow Old is a setting of a stanza from For the Fallen by Lawrence Binyon. The poem was written for those who died in World War I, but I first read this text while looking through inscriptions found in World War II prison camps. They Shall Not Grow Old is set for SSATBB chorus a cappella and includes the additional words of the inscription in Stalag Luft I, "Lest we forget."

They Shall Got Grow Old is dedicated to Alfio Russo, Ralph Youngmann and all who served in World War II.

They Shall Not Grow Old performed by the Soldiers' Chorus of the Army Field Band, Washington, DC at the Charlestown Community Chapel, Catonsville, Maryland September 19, 2010
