The text is from the Catholic Mass on the Anniversary of the Dedication of a Church.
In 2006, Great is This Place was performed as the offertory anthem at the Archdiocesan Mass for the Rededication of the altar at America's oldest Cathedral, the Baltimore Basilica.

Great is this Place

TEXT:

Great is this place;
It is the House of God and the gate of Heaven;
And it shall be called the Court of God.
Alleluia!
How lovely are thy Tabernacles,
O Lord of Hosts!
My soul longeth and fainteth
For the courts of the Lord
Alleluia!
This place was made by God,
A priceless mystery,
it is without reproach.
In it there can be no disgrace
I will worship towards Thy holy temple
and I will give glory to Thy Name.
